Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Studio
Immerse yourself in the nostalgic world of this classic film
Twenty-Four Eyes is a movie based on the novel written by Shodoshima Island native, Tsuboi Sakae. Set in the turbulent period between 1928 and 1946, a year after the end of the war, this story describes the relationship of love and respect between a new teacher and her 12 students. Enjoy the nostalgic feel of the Showa period as you explore the wooden schoolhouse and other facilities built within the studio.
The Café Cinema Club’s menu features local specialties, as well as an old fashioned school lunch set that will bring back memories for Japanese visitors. Be sure to give it a try!
If you plan on taking a bus to the studio from one of the ports, don’t forget to check the schedule as the number of buses is limited.
