Takamatsu Port Area

The area around Sunport Takamatsu stretches from JR Takamatsu Station and includes terminals for land and sea transportation, hotels, parks and a concert hall, among others. Takamatsu Symbol Tower, the tallest high-rise building in Shikoku, contains public facilities such the Kagawa International Conference Hall, as well as offices for local businesses. At nighttime, the building lights up in a rainbow of colors.

In the area around the train station and the port you can enjoy outdoor artworks created for the Setouchi Triennale art festival.

Also, you can see the red lighthouse known as “Seto Shirube”, which has become the symbol of Sunport Takamatsu and was the first lighthouse in the world to be built out of glass. Today, Seto Shirube continues to keep the ocean safe, just as it has since long ago. When the sun sets, it lights up in a beautiful red color, warming the hearts of onlookers. This is the perfect place to go for a stroll at night.
