In the warm climate of Kagawa Prefecture, where sunny days are in abundance, strawberries bask in the sun, producing large, sweet fruit of the highest quality. Used to decorate cakes and sweets, the Nyoho variety of strawberry is very popular. The fact that 90% of Nyoho strawberries are produced in Kagawa makes this prefecture one of Japan’s major strawberry producing regions. Kagawa brand strawberries, known as Sanukihime, are especially sweet and juicy.
There are many strawberry farms in Kagawa and strawberry picking activities are available all over the prefecture. Parents and children, couples and friends alike are welcome to participate and enjoy the taste of fresh strawberries to the fullest.
