Sightseeing Train: Shikoku Mannaka Sennen Monogatari

A sophisticated journey through a millennium of history, aboard a real sightseeing train

The Shikoku Mannaka Sennen Monogatari runs once a day between JR Tadotsu Station (Kagawa Prefecture) and JR Oboke Station (Tokushima Prefecture). The outgoing train to Oboke Station is named the Sora no Sato Express (“Skyline Express”), and the train to Tadotsu is called the Shiawase no Sato Express (“Happiness Express”). The train’s interior is richly Japanese: the design draws from traditional houses and uses wood to create a warm atmosphere.

Guests are treated to beautiful scenery and food made with select local ingredients, including homegrown sake and side dishes. Service is provided using special crafts and other items, with careful attention to detail. Cherish this opportunity to meet people from two prefectures and discover brand new sights and activities.

Tickets can be bought at any JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-Madoguchi) or through mainstream travel agencies. Meals can be reserved one month to four days prior to departure. Online reservations are for trains bound to Oboke only. See website for more details.
